INVERTER

INVERTER TYPE AIRCON

This unit comes with a variable speed compressor motor that adjusts the refrigerant flow inside the unit to control the heating or cooling capacity.

So, this unit is not wasteful in terms of electricity consumption or refrigerant use as it senses and adjusts each accordingly. It’s super quiet in operation, has a longer lifespan than a non-inverter and generally costs less to purchase and operate.

NON INVERTER

NON INVERTER TYPE AIRCON

A non-inverter unit has a fixed speed compressor motor, and they simply turn on or off as soon as the desired temperature is reached, and doesn’t run at full speed all the time.

This is called the ‘all or none’ principle because the motor is either running or has stopped. Because of the start-stop functionality, they tend to use more electricity, and so, cost more to operate. They are also noisier than inverters, and tend to have a shorter lifespan.
